Locals and Police clash over Machhindranath Jatra prohibitory order
A conflict followed among police and local people at Pulchok as the last began Machhindranath Jatra by pulling the chariot opposing prohibitory requests on Thursday.
The Machhindranath Jatra or the Bunga Dyaḥ Jatra that was supposed to come underway in April has been conceded for the current year due to the Covid pandemic. The chariot has been standing abandoned at Pulchok throughout recent months. It is accepted that the chariot must be taken to Bungmati before the Malamas which will begin at mid-Spetember in 2020.
